Construction. Not all parts of the economy are in free fall.

Dust Storm. This was taken from my front yard. Welcome to the desert. Dust storms are a part of life here.

A typical suburban Phoenix neighborhood.

Wine. Not really in keeping with the theme - but drinking wine helps one cope with the heat and dust storms. :)

Nice pics. The dust storm looks very scary. I would have hated to experience it. BTW, is that your personal wine collection? If so I'm coming over this weekend :-)
ReplyDeleteAmazing stuff, I love the dust storm one, it's so alien to me living on the south coast of England to see such things. It's amazing, and the last one of the wine, looks like heaven!
ReplyDeleteWow, that dust storms seems scary! I can see why the wine cellar helps LOL Great pics, thanks!

I would need those bottles of wine if I came face-to-face with a dust storm.
ReplyDeleteI had no idea that dust storms were so common. It looks really intense.
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures, it makes me miss Arizona ever so much. I love how soft the air is there. And the fact you are lucky enough to get hot AND dark. LOL
ReplyDeletemmmmm wine
ReplyDeleteYes, that dust storm looks really dramatic - and I bet it is! Never a dull moment in Arizona, right?
ReplyDelete@Cubby: I wish that was my personal wine collection. I took that at a restaurant.
ReplyDelete@Jason Shaw: The dust storms usually aren't quite that bad - but this year we've had a few nasty ones. The big one (not the photo I took - but a few weeks before) was of biblical proportions.
@Daniel: Thanks! Yes - wine, or any other alcoholic beverage will help. :)
@Howard: The trick is to stay indoors. But the wine helps.
@erik: We get several each year. Usually they look less ominous than the photo.
@Biki: Hot and dark. LOL! I'll trade you summers. But I'm not touching your winter.
@Stephen: mmmmm indeed.
@Raybeard: whether it's the weather or the politics, there's always something interesting happening in AZ.
great pictures :)
